hello beautiful,
Though we know its not the end of the day yet, think ya should know of anything positive because it doesn't seem to come so often these days. It's the middle of the afternoon and you're sleeping, but today has been a better day for you so far. When Megan and Dad came in first thing this morning, we got word that you slept through most of the night. You are more alert today, less uncomfortable and restless, and actually ate something! We love when we say hi to you and get a "hi sweetie" back from ya, then a hand squeeze. Can't tell you how comforting that is Mom. When Tyler and Kyle came in around lunch time, you were the most alert we've seen ya in a while. Tyler brought you our Boston Red Sox family picture to put beside your bed so you can always have us by your side to look at, especially for the few hours we go home for at night. When you saw it your face lit up and said "that's great" enthusiastically. After that Tyler and Dad were able to feed you a good deal of your lunch compared to normal, which was comforting to see.
The doctors last night ended up having to put an IV in your foot, due to the left arm being so swollen because of a small blood clot (they're not too concerned about it though). They were hesitant about putting a PICC line in because of other complications that could result from it. Few of the doctors came in today too and keep reiterating what is to come and how dismal your prognosis looks, especially if they confirm that it's in your spine now with the spinal tap tomorrow. We just don't want to hear it though. Fighting til the end, right?
Well we will keep ya posted on how the rest of your day goes, as of now you're sleeping away. Visitors have been in and out all day, which is comforting. You're in with Julie and Steve right now, Diane Brzostowski just left and guess who is coming in next? Carter!..we all know how much he loves his Aunt Kathi and coming to her house. Know your face brightens up whenever you see one of your little nieces or nephews.

Hi mom, news has been rough but we know that you are very strong and determined. These doctors are wrong, they don't you. I DO! I know you will pull through this and see all the amazing things that will happen to you, dad, Kyle, Megan, and me in the future. I also know something else, I know that one day soon you are going to read these entries and see what all you have been going through. And you are going to think to yourself "damn i'm one strong girl". You are also going to read all of these comments and realize how special you are and how many people care about you.

I was so happy to see you today, to see a smile on that beautiful face. Dieter and Ana came to visit too. Dieter had fun learning about the robot that delivers medicine. He wants to come back tomorrow to hunt it down. You are such a strong woman Kathi... a fighter. I love you!! Sabrina
